Jason & Paige

Jason and Paige had a perfect July wedding at Pelican Lakes! It was a beautiful day with a great couple to photograph. I’m pretty sure you couldn’t take a bad photo of Paige if you tried! Here is a sampling from the day…show-it005.jpgshow-it050.jpgshow-it056.jpgshow-it057.jpgshow-it069.jpgshow-it077.jpgshow-it079.jpg

Meg & Rory… Vancouver Wedding!

They began as great friends and that only grew up until the moment Rory told Megan he loved her. He took her on a long walk down what appears to be a beautiful mile-long dock piercing into the ocean water. As the best friends strolled down to the edge of the water, Rory shared for the first time that he Loves Meg. When Megan told me this story, she added that this ‘beautiful dock’ was actually a mile long sewer system called the ‘poop shoot’. With Rory being a plumber, he picked the perfect setting to confess his love! This little story tells a lot about Megan and Rory. They are both so fun, lighthearted, and in love! I felt as if Megan was taking care of me on her wedding day, and not the other way around.

The ceremony was at an old movie theater in down town Vancouver, and the reception was help to honor Rory, at the Scottish Cultural center.

Meg & Rory, It was such a joy to capture your wedding! Thanks for inviting us in, and please come visit soon! Love you both!

Kailin & David… Married!

What a fabulous couple!!! Kailin and David met through some friends a while ago, and of course fell in love! I am so glad they did, because it was a joy to watch them together. My favorite part of the evening was getting to watch the new couple serve together. They themselves cut the cake and served it to there guest. What a wonderful idea to to bless other people in the first hours of marriage. These two will be world changers :) ! The ceremony was held at the couple’s church, and the reception was at a local coffee shop called Everyday Joe’s.

Kailin & David, I truly hope we will stay in touch. It was an honor to be apart of your big day and meet your wonderful families! Maybe soon we can share some bottles of Dr. Pepper! :)

Bethany.. Senior Portraits

I was so excited when Bethany asked me to do her Senior Portraits. She is such a beautiful, loving, and talented lady. I met Bethany through Young Life at Fossil Ridge high school, and I was immediately impressed by her. I am fighting for her to stay in Colorado for college, but I realize that is selfish… everyone wants her to live near them:)

Bethany… Congrats girl! Enjoy your senior year. It was a blast to be with you!

Brittney & Trevor… Married!

Even before they met, they both fell in love with Colorado. At different ages and different times Trevor and Brittney both stood tall at the top of Colorado’s tough fourteener, Longs peak. Little did they know, the town they looked down on would soon be there destination wedding.

Brittney and Trevor live out of state, but gladly made the journey to Estes Park for their wedding. It was at the Stanley Hotel, very fitting considering Trevor is a history buff! The sweet wedding had a southern twist with pies for center pieces and sweet tea to drink.

I am bummed that I only had one day with this couple, but also thankful. Brittney and Trevor immediately felt like long friends. During the toast someone shared that this couple would be looked up to by many, and I would agree!
Brittney, one word…. STUNNING!! Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Trevor, I loved your joy. You both were so fun.

Sarah & Todd.. Married!

He looked at the gift and just began to laugh. He gazed around at his grooms men and whispered beneath his breath, ‘I think I know what this is!’ He pulled a rather large pocket knife out of his tux to open the gift his ’soon to be wife’ gave him. Once he pulled out the final box, a sticker on the side said ‘not legal in California’. The groomsmen laughed knowing it would be good. And there it was, the hand gun Todd had always wanted. A perfect gift on that wedding day!

Sarah was so excited to give Todd his gift, and this explains a lot about her. She is extremely sweet and caring, but knows how to have a good laugh. The couple made sure they enjoyed their wedding day in Estes Park, and were so relaxed and calm. It was such a joy to be apart of the wedding.

Sarah, you were BEAUTIFUl and Vibrant! Haley and I loved to be around you. Thank you for inviting us into your story.

Todd, thanks for taking off those stunner shades… I still owe you a beer :) You are awesome!

Alaskan Splendor

I’m used to taking a small “pocket” camera with me on vacations, but for this last trip…I decided to go the whole nine yards and take my D700, 3 lenses, a flash, and of course-my charger and extra memory cards. After a few minutes of grumbling as I lugged all my gear onto the airplane, I became excited with the prospect of new photographs just waiting to be captured in the beautiful Alaskan landscape. The trip was wonderful, and I am so glad that I used my “big girl camera” instead! It gave me a chance to learn more about not only what kind of pictures my camera is capable of taking…but what I am capable of seeing as well and capturing as well. It gave me the confidence I needed to come home and really dive into the wedding season, and for that I say “Thanks, Alaska”.

Engaged! Kailin & David

I am so thrilled to be apart of Kailin and David’s journey! They are such a Vibrant couple and full of life. They met at church, and one thing led to another. When they shared their story with me, they said everything just worked! They kept finishing each others sentences, and would end with laughing. And now, the fun couple will be getting married in Fort Collins in July.

Kailin and David, thank you for inviting me into your story. I am so excited to have you guys as friends.

Kailin, girl you rocked the shoot! Thanks for being Vibrant and showing off you! It was beautiful.

David, loved your encouragement and laughter! Keep enjoying that Dr. Pepper!! :)

And Rob… thanks for being the hottest assistant ever :) (it’s ok… that’s my husband)

Jasmine* Workshop!

It is an indescribable feeling walking in to a room full of people who have the same passion as you. It is inspiring and empowering. I don’t even have to speak, yet I feel understood! This is how I felt walking into the Jasmine Star workshop. 22 photographers seeking more! People flew from all over to gather and learn from one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world!

For me, I felt excited and accomplished to attend the workshop in California. It had been a goal of mine for a while. Jasmine has always been a role model, not just because she is talented at what I love, but she is full of life and passion.

I felt honored to attend and sit in a room full of 20 beautiful women chasing their passion!

Thank you to Joe and Jihan Cerda for being stunning models, seriously…incredibly good looking :)! Thank you to Carissa of JL Designs for the gorgeous bouquet! And of course thank you Jasmine Star for sharing your passion with us!

Here is a little peek at what the day looked like! What a Vibrant Couple!
